Travel can be stressful for you and your person living with dementia or cognitive impact.
Here is a brief video with simple tips and a brief illustration why it's important to plan ahead:
Build time into your journey - time for rest, delays, the restroom, navigation and more.
Have a plan in case something goes awry - a go bag, emergency contacts, important documents (POA), medication list with dosage, extra medications, incontinence supplies, etc.
Consider getting help at the airport, train station or on the drive - assistance from the airline or train service, or an escort like a dementia specialist (like myself).
