Top Books of the Year

I've read over 50 books so far this year - here are my favorite 8... I read almost exclusively nonfiction and my most -often topics are : psychology, leadership, dementia (obvs), beekeeping  and organic gardening . This was a great book year!  My top 3 were Katherine May's Wintering, about the seasons in our lives that are hard or healing; Stephanie Foo's What My Bones Know, about complex PTSD and generational trauma; and Julie Otsuka's The Swimmers, about a woman living with dementia - her losses, yes, but moreso what she retains. And the other top selections, totaling my 8 favorites : Lars Chittka's The Mind of a Bee (bursting with research about how smart and cool bees are); Viet Thanh Nguyen's The Refugees (short stories, Pulitzer Prize winning author); Alessandro Vitale's Rebel Gardening (he has a great Insta also); Michelle Zauner's Crying in H Mart (the food!!); and David Sedaris' When You are Engulfed in Flames (laughed so hard I cried, multiple times).
